The morning of September 11, 2001, Steven Barnes woke up, got dressed, and sat down for breakfast with his wife and 3 children. He ate quickly because he was running a few minutes behind. After eating, he rushed out the door yelling “see you later” to his beloved family. Little did he know, they would never see him again. Steven Barnes worked on the 11th floor of the World Trade Center and on that day died with many other Americans. Such a tragic reality, death is certain, life is not. Everyone dies and, like the victims of 9/11, it may be sooner than you think. Are you ready to face God when that day comes? Here’s a quick test to see.  Have you ever lied (even a small white lie)? Have you ever stolen (the value is irrelevant)? Have you ever used God’s name in vain (this is called blasphemy)? Or have you ever hated someone? The Bible says, “Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer.” If you have done these things, you’ve broken the ninth, eighth, third and sixth Commandments and you’ve sinned against God. On Judgment Day, you will stand before Him as a liar, thief, blasphemer and murderer. You will be guilty of breaking His Law and end up in hell. Although this is tragic, there is hope! The Bible says, “God demonstrated His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” God sent His only begotten Son to take upon Himself the wrath and judgment you deserve for breaking God's Law and sinning against Him.  He did this when He shed His innocent blood for the remission of sins as He died on the cross.  Three days later, He rose from the dead, forever defeating death.  The result of Jesus Christ's shed blood, death and resurrection, is the free gift of everlasting life and the forgiveness of sins.  In order to receive this free gift, you must repent (turn from your sin) and by faith, receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.  Isn't that amazing?  Cry out to God today before it is too late!  Then read your Bible every day and obey what you read.  See Mark 1:15, John 10:9 and John 14:6.  God bless you! *Steven Barnes is a fictitious character.
